Welcome to Legal Chow. My name is Scott Gibson. I wear a lot of hats:
Husband, Father, and Grandpa. Business Lawyer, Counselor, and Adviser. Adjunct Professor of Law. Writer, Speaker. Wannabe Chef and Baker.
Rebecca and I have been married since 1987. We have four children, one son-in-law, and a new grandson. Life is good.
Born and raised in Mesa, Arizona, I am a three-time alumnus from Arizona State University (BA in Journalism, JD, and LLM in Biotechnology and Genomics). Most recently, I earned a second LLM in Litigation Management from Baylor Law School.
I am a partner with the Mesa, Arizona law firm of Denton Peterson Dunn, PLLC, where I focus my practice on the intersection of intellectual property and employment law. I help businesses protect their intangible assets from unfair competition and from disloyal employees.
Since 2008, I have taught a course on Trade Secrets and Restrictive Covenants at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University every Fall. Teaching the class helps me keep my skills sharp.
Cooking and writing are my two primary creative outlets. Everyone loves good food. I hope you find my culinary escapades interesting.
